Senior UX Content Strategist

Job Description

UX Content Strategists wear a number of hats at OX. One day they may be immersed in taxonomies, tagging structures and other elements of content strategy at the systems level. And the next day they may be creating style guides, editorial calendars and more at the content strategy process and planning level. Reporting to the Director of Content Strategy and Writing, the Sr. UX Content Strategist is a left brain + right brain role, centered around the planning, creation, publishing, distribution and governance of digital content for enterprise-grade and human-centered experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform client and customer stakeholder interviews to identify and understand user needs and business objectives
  • Audit and assess current state digital content and ecosystems, identifying strengths, weaknesses, gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities
  • Inform and influence information architecture, site navigation and user experience for new sites, owning IA on content-driven site experiences
  • Collaborate with user experience architects to develop flexible and intelligent content structures and experiences
  • Design and implement content creation and governance workflows and documentation
  • Create and maintain editorial calendars, content style guides, web writing best practices, content templates and content author training manuals
  • Create and maintain product taxonomies, metadata frameworks, page-level content types/models and content migration plans
  • Conduct keyword and SEO research to understand customers’ needs and search trends, contribute to social media strategies and content structures
  • Develop and maintain content matrices for the informed and structured development of content for large-scale enterprise web redesign projects
  • Develop and maintain content requirements, page types and templates for new digital content and properties in conjunction with user experience architects
  • Help advance the content practice at OX

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree from an accredited university program with an emphasis on library sciences, human computer interaction, English, communications, journalism or other related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a content strategy role in a professional services/agency environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to bring structured thinking to a variety of tools and templates
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for and understanding of digital trends and technologies, including best practices and emerging trends
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles and how to apply them in a digital context
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload.
  • Solid understanding of web development, interaction design, user experience principles, information architecture and the digital content publishing ecosystem
  • Desire to learn from your peers and apply your skills in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment
  • Comfortable in a direct client-facing role and leading client calls
  • Familiarity and interest in user journeys, personas and ethnographic research
  • Working knowledge of web accessibility
  • Passion for great storytelling and systems thinking

Compensation

  • Salary commensurate with experience and level of proficiency.
